Juliette, a seventeen-year-old girl, has been abandoned by her family and the world ever since she accidentally killed a child by touching him. Since then, she has been locked up by ‘The Reestablishment’. For 264 days, she has not been touched or spoken to by another human being. However, this was not a totally new circumstance for Juliette, as after her parents discovered that her touch was ‘lethal’, they locked her in a room and stopped touching her altogether. There were no more hugs or words of affection, only ignor. The world around her seems uncomfortable with Juliette, so not talking or contacting her is nothing new, but the whole ‘Rebel’ community trying to find her and persuade her to join them is a whole new experience for her. Finally, there are a bunch of people who not only understand her, but are also like her. She has finally found the right place to belong. However, these people not only want to rescue her because she is like them, they also want to use her as a weapon to take down ‘The Reestablishment’. This is the story of a girl who was deemed “insane” and turned into a “weapon”.
“There will be a bird today. It will be white streaks of gold like crown atop its head. It will fly.”
